meet liz, the girl behind ShortTrackers
Hi, I'm Elizabeth! Small town West Tennessee born, University of Alabama educated, and North Carolina based. Currently living in Mooresville, NC and working in short-track racing!
After working in motorsports for over 5 years, I noticed a few things that are lacking for drivers, fans, and tracks! 2 of these issues, Shortrackers.com is striving to fix.
1. Personality from drivers.
Over the years, drivers have become more and more concoius about what parts of their lives that they share with fans. Because of this we have seen a decrease in loyal, engaged fans at the short track level. I believe that fans would support local race tracks more if they knew the people behind the helmet, rather than just their names and car numbers.
Shortrackers.com strives to share these stories behind the storyline. Rather than knowing how many wins or losses a driver has, I want the fans to know where and what that drive came from, all the obstacles they had to overcome in order to be in that race, what and who they care about, and why they love what they do.
Everyone has a story, and I want to share them.
2. The ease of finding local race tracks.
Many fans might live in the same town for their entire lives and never know about the race track 20 minutes away from them. Shortrackers.com hopes to be a place where fans can find tracks that are local to them, along with their schedules. I hope to allow more fans to quickly find the nearest track that is racing this weekend, so these tracks can have more and more fans in the stands!
